CJS SKATE DEMO - Edison, New Jerseyey
The day was a success for our team who proved their abillities and professionalism is second to none. Throughout the entire day spectators witnessed Central Jersey's most talented skaters and BMX riders. The CJS team along with friends performed an impressive demonstration for many young skaters and their supportive parents. The crowd chanted, "CJS,CJS,CJS" while stickers, posters, t-shirts and wheels were hurled into the excitement. This demo had everything covered right down to the ever popular "deck toss". Later in the day the team returned to the shop barely standing. We gathered and congratulated each other as we all knew that we had given it our all. Cuts, bruises, scrapes and sprains were an obvious sign that we had accomplished our goal. The team had successfully promoted the sport in all its glory and more importantly made a positive impact on the next generation of skaters.
A special thanks to:
Metuchen-Edison YMCA, Accel Wheels, Globe Shoes, Mass3, Syndrome Distribution and Ugly Mug Clothing Co.
Team CJS performed a demonstration for the community of South Plainfield, NJ at the grand opening of their township skatepark. During the day, CJS provided numerous giveaways such as stickers, skate bags, helmets, wheels and a autographed CJS deck. CJS also allowed time for interaction between the team and the younger skaters that attended the event.

Each team member used their time to talk to the younger kids regarding the usage of the skatepark and the safety that goes along with it. South Plainfield has successfully built a skatepark and proved to the township youth that they do care for their needs.

BLOOD DRIVE - EDISON, NEW JERSEY
Give blood, go skateboarding! This demo turned simply into a open skate session. All skaters that were present were invited to skate the obstacles and tweak the equipment as they desired. This made way for a fun skate jam and an opportunity to take center stage. Free food and drinks along with a bike and skateboard giveaway made this demo one of a kind.
THE MAKING OF DRIVE
During the filming of DRIVE, Mike Vallely had stop in the shop to spend some time and sign some autograghs. Mike was in town filming the part of the film that documented his youth in New Jersey. During his visit, Mike had proved that he is every bit a true professional as well as a good friend. Mike did not forgot where he came from. In fact, I am convinced he is proud of his roots. Mike and I still share the threads that has stitched us together from the start, skateboarding. Do yourself a favor and pick up the DVD to get the extras (The FDR session is amazing!) Both formats include the 3 song sampler from Mike's band Mike V and the Rats.
Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour
Long time friend of mine and professional skateboarder, Mike Vallely had invited me and my team to attend this incredible skating event held at Rex Plex, located in Elizabeth N.J. As usual, Mike V. and the rest of these amazing skaters that tour with Tony Hawk left an impression on New Jersey as to what true professionals are really like. The place was packed wall to wall with skateboarding enthusiasts from all over. It was definitely worth the wait in line in order to get an autograph from any one of these individuals.
The Search for Animal Chin

If you know your skateboarding history, then you will appreciate this. Seen here is the legendary "Animal Chin". For those who do not know him, I will give you some insight. The Search For Animal Chin was one of the most famous skateboarding videos ever. Released in 1987, five young skaters, Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill and Tommy Guerrero search for the missing master, Animal Chin, who has gone underground because the sport is getting too commercialized. The video hints the "Animal Chin" philosophy revolves around the idea of seeking the most perfect and isolated skate spot on earth. Here is the irony; any place or anywhere is the place to be. As long as you are skating, you have found it! This Buddha-like philosophy has opened the eyes of many skaters around the world and will conitinue to enlighten many generations of skaters to come. 16 years ago, I began my journey as a skateboarder and started my search for Animal Chin. Needless to say, he found me.
